As the Department of Psychology within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Muş Alparslan University, we aim to carry out our education and training, research and development, and community engagement activities in line with universal ethical values, human rights, and a strong sense of social responsibility. Grounded in the fundamental principles and approaches of psychological science, we adopt an efficiency-, effectiveness-, digitalization-, and quality-oriented perspective. We consider it a core principle to equip our students with strong scientific thinking, critical analysis, ethical sensitivity, and psychological assessment skills.
Our Department of Psychology is committed to supporting research and development activities of our academic staff that contribute to the production of up-to-date scientific knowledge, and to educating our students as individuals who think scientifically, adhere to ethical principles, and possess strong digital competencies. All educational and administrative processes in our department are managed within the framework of the “Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA)” cycle, based on a continuous improvement approach. In line with the needs and expectations of both internal and external stakeholders (students, graduates, academic and administrative staff, sector representatives, and society), activities are planned and implemented in accordance with quality standards to ensure that scientific knowledge is translated into societal benefit.
In this context, as the Department of Psychology, we are committed to:
Becoming a distinctive, reputable, and preferred psychology department at national and international levels, in alignment with the mission and vision of Muş Alparslan University and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, through high-quality education and scientific research;
Contributing to science, practice, and societal well-being by conducting high-quality academic studies in various subfields of psychology;
Enhancing individuals’ critical thinking, scientific evaluation, ethical decision-making, and applied psychological skills through a student-centered educational approach;
Continuously improving the academic and technological infrastructure necessary for faculty members and students to follow national and international scientific developments and enhance their digital competencies;
Achieving institutional goals by prioritizing the satisfaction of students, graduates, staff, and all stakeholders;
Sustaining community engagement activities that promote the use of psychological knowledge for societal benefit, support individual well-being, and strengthen university–society collaboration;
Developing education, research, digitalization, and community engagement processes in accordance with national and international quality standards, within the framework of a quality assurance system based on continuous improvement.
