The Program Educational Objectives of our department are defined as follows:

PEO-1: To educate qualified individuals who have a strong command of the fundamental concepts and theories of psychology; possess well-developed scientific research and problem-solving skills; adopt an interdisciplinary perspective; adhere to ethical principles; demonstrate cultural sensitivity; have effective communication skills; and are capable of contributing to society.

PEO-2: To conduct research that contributes to the scientific knowledge in the field of psychology at national and international levels; to enhance international exchange and collaborations; and to apply and disseminate research findings in ways that serve the social, cultural, economic, and scientific development of society.

PEO-3: To promote students’ active participation in learning processes through various methods and practices; to educate individuals who can use up-to-date software and data science technologies; who are interested in psychology; who think critically and analytically; and who embrace lifelong learning.

PEO-4: As the main goal of undergraduate education, to provide ideal academic and practical conditions that enable students to gain interest in different subfields of psychology, use scientific methods, think analytically, and acquire applied skills supported by sectoral collaborations.

PEO-5: To educate individuals who, in line with academic or other career goals, possess the necessary fundamental knowledge, methods, and sufficient professional foreign language competence in psychology; can evaluate human behavior multidimensionally; can produce solutions to problems within a scientific and ethical framework; and aim to contribute to professional development and society.

As a result of achieving these educational objectives, students who successfully complete the undergraduate program are awarded the title of “Psychologist.” Graduates who obtain sufficient scores in the ALES exam and meet foreign language proficiency requirements for graduate programs may continue to postgraduate education by successfully passing interviews and scientific examinations.

In addition, graduates who complete pedagogical formation training and achieve sufficient scores in the KPSS Educational Sciences exam may be eligible to work as philosophy group teachers or psychology teachers within the Ministry of National Education.

Our graduates have broad employment opportunities in various fields such as human resources, education, health, forensic psychology, clinical psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, research companies, non-governmental organizations, social service institutions, and both public and private sectors.
