About the Double Major Program

WHAT IS A DOUBLE MAJOR?
The Double Major Program (DMP) allows students enrolled in the Department of Psychology to simultaneously take courses from another undergraduate program within the university and earn a second bachelor’s degree.

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • Applications can be submitted at the earliest at the beginning of the 3rd semester and at the latest at the beginning of the 5th semester.

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 is required.

  • Students must rank within the top 20% of their class.

  • All courses taken up to the application period must be successfully completed.

  • There is a double major agreement between the Departments of Psychology and Sociology.

HOW TO APPLY?

  • Applications are submitted online via the Student Information System.

  • Information regarding eligible departments and quotas is announced on the department’s website.

HOW IS THE PROGRAM CONDUCTED?

  • Each student is assigned a Double Major advisor.

  • Students must complete at least 36 credits (60 ECTS).

  • Major and double major courses are recorded separately in transcripts.

  • The GPA in the major program may drop to 2.50 only once; if it falls below this level a second time, the student loses eligibility for the DMP.

  • If the DMP GPA falls below 2.00 twice, the student is dismissed from the program.

WHAT ARE THE GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS?

  • A minimum GPA of 3.00 in the major program and 2.00 in the double major program is required.

  • A double major diploma cannot be awarded before completion of the major program.

  • Students may be granted up to two additional semesters to complete the double major after finishing their primary program.

CAN THE DOUBLE MAJOR PROGRAM BE DISCONTINUED?

  • Students may withdraw from the program voluntarily.

  • Once withdrawn, reapplication to the same or another double major program is not permitted.

  • Failure to enroll in courses for two consecutive semesters without official permission results in dismissal.

  • Students who leave the program may count successfully completed courses as electives in their major program.
