The Master’s Program in General Psychology with Thesis, conducted under the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Muş Alparslan University, aims to advance the academic and applied knowledge of individuals who have completed their undergraduate education in psychology. The program was established to meet the growing need for graduate education following the initiation of undergraduate studies in the department and to provide a structured pathway for students to continue their academic development.
Within the scope of the program, it is aimed to educate individuals who develop both theoretical and applied knowledge across various subfields of psychology; are capable of conducting scientific research; adhere to ethical principles; are sensitive to social issues; and adopt a solution-oriented approach. In this context, students are expected to gain the competence to evaluate human behavior and social systems on a scientific basis, apply their knowledge in practice, and contribute to societal well-being. The program also contributes to the training of qualified specialists and academics needed in Türkiye, enhances the university’s scientific capacity, and supports the development of social sciences at the regional level.
The Master’s Program in General Psychology with Thesis consists of four semesters and requires the completion of a total of 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits. The program includes at least seven theoretical courses and one seminar course completed within the first two semesters, followed by a thesis process spanning the final two semesters. The language of instruction is Turkish, and the program is designed to systematically develop both academic and research competencies.
As part of the application requirements, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and obtain a minimum score of 75 in the quantitative–verbal (equal weight) score type of the ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam). The admission and evaluation process is conducted in accordance with the Graduate Education and Training Regulations of the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Muş Alparslan University and relevant legislation.
